The largest opposition party, the PML-N, has decided to run in the Senate elections.
According to sources, a meeting of the joint parliamentary party of PML-N was held under the chairmanship of Maryam Nawaz, in which major decisions were taken in the light of the important message of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
A large number of members of the National Assembly and Senators including former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Senator Raja Zafarul Haq, Rana Sanaullah attended the parliamentary party meeting.
Addressing the meeting, Maryam Nawaz said that we will continue to play a full role in the parliament, the government is confused.
Meanwhile, he conveyed the message of his father and former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to the MPs. The PML-N MPs expressed full solidarity with Nawaz Sharif's statement.
The PML-N Vice President apprised the MPs of the decision to contest the Senate elections and said that the PML-N would participate fully in the Senate elections.
He said that it was time to form parties and change allegiances overnight, adding that the government was bewildered.
Maryam Nawaz directed the MPs to continue playing their full role in the House and give a tough time to the government on national and public issues.
He said that there was no talk with the government now, the decision on resignation from the assemblies would be taken by the PDM which would be accepted by all parties.
