The European Food Safety Agency (EFSA), the European Union's governing body in Parma, Italy, has officially approved the use of mailworms as food.
Experts say the insects are nutritious and good for human health, while the Italian city is known for its delicious pasta, tomatoes, ham and cheese.
If approved by the European Commission, these yellow worms will begin to be available in food stores in European countries.
According to the Italian Food Agency, these insects are rich in ingredients such as protein, fat and fiber. These insects or their powder can be eaten in snacks or noodles.
