Football club president Lucas Miara and four players have been killed in a small plane crash in Brazil. According to a foreign news agency, a small twin-engine outdoor model plane crashed near the runway in the northern state of Tokantas. No one on board was killed in the crash.

The players of Palmas Football Club, Lucas Perakzides, Guillermo No, Renault and Marcus Molinari were positive and were leaving the team to participate in the tournament. The Brazilian Football Confederation confirmed the postponement of the tournament after the accident.
In 2016, 76 people, including 19 members of a Brazilian soccer club, were killed in a plane crash.
