The captain of the national cricket team Babar Azam will not be able to play the second Test against New Zealand due to which the captaincy duties have been handed over to Muhammad Rizwan.
According to the details, Babar Azam had suffered a fracture due to a ball hitting his thumb due to which he could not play in the T20 series but now the possibility of his participation in the second Test was being shown which has now died. He will not be able to play the second Test against New Zealand due to which Mohammad Rizwan will lead.
Due to rain in Christchurch, Babar Azam was unable to practice batting during which his fitness was to be checked. The team management and Babar Azam are not ready to take any risk in a hurry, which is why he decided not to play in the second Test match.
It is to be noted that the training session of Pakistan cricket team at Hegley Oval was affected due to rain. The batsmen participated in the net session for only half an hour. The fast bowlers did not participate in the net session. Also did fielding practice.
