India's anti-Muslim government has passed a bill to close all religious schools in Assam.
According to News, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in Assam has passed a bill under which all government-run Muslim madrassas in the state will be closed by April, and 700 Muslim madrassas will be closed as secondary and High schools will be converted. Muslim leaders say the Modi government's move is aimed at wiping out Muslims from India.
Minister of State Hemanta Biswas Sharma had said a few months ago that the state government would close all government-run madrassas which were run with government funds and religious education could not be allowed with government funds.
