Federal Minister for Education Shafqat Mahmood has said that a meeting of the Ministers of Education and Health will be held tomorrow to review the decision to open educational institutions.
In a tweet, Shafqat Mahmood said that before the students start coming to schools, there will be a meeting of the ministers of education and health tomorrow (Friday) in which the situation of coronavirus will be reviewed.
The Federal Minister for Education said that he strongly wanted the education to continue but the final decision would be taken only after looking at the health situation as the welfare of the students would always be his priority.
It may be recalled that after a meeting of inter-provincial education ministers on January 4, it was decided that educational institutions would be opened in three phases. According to Shafqat Mahmood, ninth to twelfth classes will be opened on January 18, primary to eighth classes from January 25 and universities from February 1.
It was also decided at the last conference of education ministers that a final decision would be taken after reviewing the situation in Corona on January 14 or 15 before the opening of educational institutions.
Education and Health Ministers meeting again tomorrow to review the coronavirus situation before students start coming to school. While I desperately want education to continue the final decision will be on health grounds. Students well being will always be a priority
