Amnesty International says the firing of a police ATS squad on the car of a young man returning home after leaving his friend in Sector H-11 near Nast University on Shams Colony on the Srinagar Highway last night is a matter of concern. And this practice is completely against human rights. The organization strongly condemned the incident and said that such cases are coming up every day in Pakistan and it is disturbing that the law enforcers themselves are now breaking the law which is unfortunate.
The organization added that this was not the first such incident but that there had been several incidents in the past in which the police themselves had misused their uniforms, such as the Sahiwal incident in which CTD Four people, including two women, were killed and two children were slightly injured in the firing. The organization said that the government of Pakistan and law enforcement agencies need to formulate an effective strategy in this regard.
