The court summoned Mesha Shafi's colleague Ali Gul over the alleged campaign of character assassination on social media against singer Ali Zafar.
The case of Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) was heard yesterday. In the case, Mesha Shafi and his associates have been accused of campaigning against Ali Zafar. Social media campaigners Lenaghani, Effat Omar, Fareeha Ayub and Faizan Raza and Haseem appeared before the magistrate. Mesha Shafi's lawyer said that their clients are out of the country at the moment so their presence should be waived. The court issued summons to Mesha's colleague Ali Gul when he did not appear.
At the request of Ali Zafar, the FIA investigated the case and presented a preliminary interim challan in the court on December 16 last month, in which Mesha Shafi, actress Effat Umar, Mahim Javed, Lena Ghani, Haseem Zaman, Fareeha Ayub, Syed Faizan Raza, Hamna Raza and Ali Gul Pir were convicted.
The FIA was due to present a final interim challan in court, but has now asked for time to complete the investigation.
