According to Indian media reports, the boy and the girl became friends while working at a shop during the lockdown, after which the boy left the girl at his house for some time. The raped girl is a resident of Vidisha district. The boy Ram Shyam is a resident of Gurjar Raisen district.
The girl told the police that the accused called her home saying it was her birthday. When the girl went there, there was no birthday party. The accused forcibly raped the girl and took pictures, after which the accused went viral on social media. The girl continued to be raped by threatening to do so, police said, adding that raids were being carried out to arrest the accused and he would be arrested soon.
