A Jewish girl refuses to join the Israeli army because of her violent policies

Every adult male and female in the occupied country of Israel is expected to join the army at least once in their life and not only receive combat training but also learn to love their homeland.

However, there are some new generation of Jewish youth who do not want to be part of the military because of the state's violent, inhumane and anti-inequality policies.

But such rebellious youths who do not join the army have to endure other punishments, including imprisonment, and so does Hillary Robin, a 19-year-old Jewish girl.

Hillary Robin, unlike other ordinary Jewish girls, refused to join the Israeli army, which led to her imprisonment.

Hillary Robin was initially arrested and jailed in August 2020 on charges of failing to join the Israeli army.

Hillary Robin was also tried in the courts on charges of sympathy with the

Palestinians, treason and sedition, and was sentenced to a total of 56 days in prison.

He was released in late November 2020 after nearly a month in prison, and the court ruled that there was no evidence that Robin joined the army out of political affiliation or sympathy with the Palestinians. Did not

Now, a few weeks after his release from prison, Hillary Robin has given an exclusive interview to the Middle East Monitor (Memo), in which he explains for the first time why he did not join his country's army.

Hillary Robin said that when she was not an adult, she was mentally prepared to join the army by the age of 20.

However, at the age of 20, when he learned of the Israeli military's violent policy and inhumane treatment, he decided not to join the army.

According to Hillary Robin, if she had joined the Israeli army for training or served for a few months, her actions would have justified the Israeli army's violence and inhumane acts.

She made it clear that she did not want to protect the Israeli army's actions against violence and inequality, so she refused to join the army.

Hillary Robin said that after refusing to join the army, he joined a group that works against joining the Jewish army.

He said the group was made up of a limited number of people who believed that not every Jew should be part of the Israeli army at least once in his life.

According to Robin, although his sympathies are not with Palestine, he is a human rights activist and did not join the army because of the Israeli military's violence against Palestinians.

The official name of the Israeli army is the Israel Defense Force (IDF) and it was formally formed in 1948.

Under the rules of the IDF and the Israeli government, every Israeli must become part of it and receive combat training.

However, 20% of Arabs living in Israel have the right to refuse to join the army at will.

However, Israeli Jews do not have the right to refuse to join the army, and those who refuse may face legal action, including imprisonment. However, if a person has a medical problem, he or she is granted a waiver.
