Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, the new chairman of Ruwit-e-Hilal Committee and Khatib of Badshahi Masjid, said that Shariah principles and Islamic teachings would be put forward for moon sighting and collection of evidence, but the help of science would be sought and there would be no disagreement.
Talking to a private channel, Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad said that he would do his best to have a national consensus on Eid and the month of Ramadan while there would be no clash with the Ministry of Science and Technology. The new chairman of Ruwit-e-Hilal Committee said that he has worked with the former chairman of the committee Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman for 15 years and during that time he has learned a lot from him, Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman Azeem. They are religious scholars and they will continue to seek guidance from them.
