DG ISPR Babar Iftikhar has paid tributes to Major Akram on the occasion of his death anniversary. He said on social networking site Twitter that we would salute Major Akram Shaheed for his great sacrifice. He showed bravery in the field of Hali during the war and in spite of all difficulties pushed back the enemy and inflicted severe damage on the enemy.
It should be noted that Major Akram Shaheed was born on April 4, 1938, in the village of Dinga in Gujarat. He was awarded Pakistan's highest military award, the Nishan Haider, for his bravery in the 1971 war between Pakistan and India. Major Akram Shaheed was born in Nanhial Dinga but his father was a resident of Jhelum. His memorial has also been erected in Jhelum with a magnificent square.
