Addressing the concluding ceremony of Pak-China Joint Air Exercise Shaheen IX at Pakistan Air Force Operational Air Base as the Chief Guest, Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Mujahid Noor Khan said that despite the threats posed by Code-19, such a large contingent participated in the exercise. He also thanked Commander-in-Chief Ding Lai Hong for sending him to Pakistan. Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Nong Rong also attended the closing ceremony as the guest of honor. At the commencement of the ceremony, the national anthems of the two countries were played. On the occasion, Chinese Ambassador Nong Rong said that due to the increasing complexities in the current security situation, significant changes are taking place in the international and regional situation. Cooperation between the two countries and their armed forces is a matter of urgency to maintain peace and stability in the region and to meet common challenges. He said that during the exercise, the two air forces have achieved many successes and shared goals in the military field.

The joint air exercise Shaheen IX was attended by modern fighter jets of Pakistan Air Force and Chinese Air Force and other support elements. In view of the changing conditions and security threats in the region, the Pakistan Air Force regularly conducts similar operational exercises on domestic and foreign soil. The tenth exercise in a series of Shaheen exercises will be held in China next year.
