Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman has been removed from the post of Chairman Ruwit Hilal Committee

ISLAMABAD: Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman has been removed from the post of chairman of Ruwit-e-Hilal Committee. According to the notification issued by the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad has been appointed as the new chairman of the Ruwit-e-Hilal Committee.

Ragheb Naeemi, Hussain Akbar, Maulana Fazlur Rahim, Dr. Yaseen Zafar, Mufti Iqbal Chishti, Dr. Mufti Ali Asghar, Faisal Ahmed, Syed Ali Qarar, Mufti Fazl Jameel, Hafiz Abdul Ghafoor, Yusuf Kashmiri, Qari Mirullah, Habibullah Chishti and Mufti conscience are included.

In addition, one representative each from SPARCO, Department of Meteorology, Science and Technology and Ministry of Religious Affairs has been included in the committee. The Ministry of Religious Affairs has issued a notification to reconstitute the Central Ruwit Hilal Committee.

Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman was the Chairman of Ruwit-e-Hilal Committee for 19 years. During the reign of Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman, the controversy over the holy month of Ramadan and Eid-ul-Fitr was in full swing. Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman and Mufti Shahabuddin Popalzai had a long-running feud. Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman and Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry also had differences. Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman also strongly opposed the annual calendar from the Ministry of Science and Technology.
