The accountability court remanded Khawaja Asif in the custody of NAB on 13-day physical remand in the assets case. The court allowed former defense minister Khawaja Asif to meet his family and order food from home.
Administrative Judge Jawad Al Hassan heard the case. NAB presents arrested PML-N leader Khawaja Asif to accountability court, NAB requests physical remand of Khawaja Asif for interrogation. The NAB lawyer claimed that Khawaja Asif had amassed assets worth over Rs 800 crore, which did not match the income. The league leaders could not satisfy the NAB about their assets.
Khawaja Asif's lawyer opposed the physical remand and declared it unjustified. The lawyer said that his clients appeared at the request of NAB and provided all the documents. The court remarked that this seems to be a matter of statistics. Khawaja Asif, after getting permission, said that he first made a case in Rawalpindi, but when he did not get anything, he started an investigation in Lahore. The NAB people are telling the wrong history.
Judge Jawad Al-Hassan remarked that the date is being written, it is wrong or will tell the right time, when Shahbaz Sharif speaks in the court, it seems that he has become the Speaker of the Assembly. The court remanded Khawaja Asif till January 13.
Talking to media, PML-N leader Khawaja Asif said that the plaintiffs in the case against him are rulers. League leader Ataullah Tarar while talking to media explained the reason for shifting the case to Lahore.
