Riyadh: A woman in Saudi Arabia swallowed a toothbrush while brushing her teeth, after which doctors had to operate on her.
According to local media reports, a 20-year-old woman arrived at the emergency room of Al-Noor Specialist Hospital in Makkah and said that she accidentally swallowed a toothbrush while brushing her teeth.
The woman said that while brushing, the toothbrush slipped from her hand and went down her throat. They tried to remove it from her hand but in this attempt it went further down her throat and from there it reached her stomach.
The woman underwent an X-ray and CT scan, which confirmed the presence of a toothbrush in her stomach, after which she was rushed to the operating theater.
The doctors there removed the brush from his stomach in just 20 minutes.
According to the Al-Noor Specialist Hospital spokesperson, the woman is in good condition and is recovering.
