Turkey, a state-owned defense equipment manufacturer in Turkey, has successfully tested a liquid rocket fuel engine.
The rocket was launched into the air from a micro-satellite launching system. Turkey sent a solid-fueled rocket out of space in 2018.
Speaking at the ceremony, President Recep Tayyab Erdogan said that all the work from the preparation of the rocket to its launch has been done using local engineers and local technology.
The rocket covered a distance of 136 km in the air. The first such experiment was conducted on October 29, 2020, the 95th Republic Day of Turkey.
Turkey now has the technology to launch a micro-satellite up to 100 km closer to the ground.
By 2025, Turkey will be able to launch satellites using its local resources and local technology, after which Turkey will not have to rely on the United States or any European country.
