Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that keeping in view the convenience of the poor people, he is monitoring it himself, the government is making every effort to provide relief to the people.
A meeting was held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Imran Khan in which measures related to availability of essential commodities and price control were reviewed.
Meanwhile, the Chief Secretary Punjab while briefing about the availability and prices of wheat and sugar in the province said that the officers of the district administration are monitoring to ensure the availability of flour.
He said that detailed consultations have been held with the owners of flour mills and 25,000 tonnes of wheat will be threshed daily and market availability will be ensured.

Briefing the meeting, the Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa said that the province consumes 11,000 tonnes of wheat daily and has a stock of 1.1 million tonnes.
He also said that flour mills have agreed to a reduction of Rs 10 to 50 per 20 kg bag.
During the briefing, he said that 2400 FIRs have been registered on profiteering and hoarding.
He said the provincial government would ensure the release of 5,000 tonnes of wheat per day.
Prime Minister Imran Khan's directive to respect the poor
On the occasion, Prime Minister Imran Khan said that the availability and pricing of essential commodities is a provincial prerogative.
The Prime Minister said that keeping in view the convenience of the poor people, they are monitoring it themselves and the government is making every effort to provide relief to the people.
Prime Minister Imran Khan said that at present all economic indicators are in a positive direction.
He directed the concerned authorities to keep a close watch on the situation of flour and sugar and said that arrangements should be made for the delivery of imported sugar in the country.
