The former Sri Lankan minister ate raw fish during a live press conference to promote fish eating and sales among the people.
According to foreign media reports, former Sri Lankan Fisheries Minister Dilip Vedarachchi urged people to eat seafood as it does not spread the corona virus.
During his press conference, he picked up a fish and ate it.
He said that our people are present in the fisheries industry, they are not able to sell their fish, the people of this country are not eating fish.
"I have brought this fish to show you, I appeal to people to eat it," said Vidarachchi.
"Don't be afraid, you won't get the corona virus."
It should be noted that the corona virus was found in the fish market of the Sri Lankan capital Colombo and it had spread all over the country.
According to foreign media reports, the fish market was closed and thousands of fish could not be sold.
On the other hand, due to lack of demand for fish in Sri Lanka, its price has also come down.
It should be noted that more than 18,000 cases of corona virus have been reported in Sri Lanka so far.
