At the 41st brigade commando ceremony, President Tayyab Erdogan handed over the unit's flag to its soldiers.
This flag of cloth is actually a sacred asset for the army which it always keeps high on the battlefield.
He said that the tradition of our forefathers has been going on for thousands of years that the army always keeps its flag high on the battlefield which instills terror in the hearts of the enemy.
He said that Turkish nation is proud and confident of its army. This flag is a symbol of the dignity and honor of the army. Every soldier sacrifices his life on the battlefield to protect this flag, but he never lets it fall to the ground.
Addressing the newly trained soldiers, he said that the nation has confidence in its army that they will keep alive the traditions of their ancestors and protect this flag.
President Erdogan said that every soldier of the Turkish army is aware of the honor and sanctity of this flag and he will hand over the soldiers who came after him with the same honor and dignity.
He said that all the achievements of Turkey on the battlefield till date are due to the brave army. Every soldier has to prove every day that he is the true heir of his ancestors.
