Although golf is a relatively new sport in Saudi Arabia, women are encouraged to embrace the sport through new opportunities and support.
Golf is a male-dominated sport. Despite showing interest in sports, women are under-represented around the world.
The recently launched sports initiative will allow women to learn golf for free in the country.
The Aramco Saudi Ladies International, presented by the Public Investment Fund, is the first step for the kingdom.
Another project, Golf Saudi Innovative 'Ladies First Club', will offer honorary membership, including golf lessons, driving range access and a full 18 hole rounds on three different courses.
The offer is open to all Saudi women with an initial membership of 1,000.
Sarah Al-Arifi, a 26-year-old Saudi businessman, told Arab News that she is excited about the possibility of a Saudi women's golf club.
Al-Arifi said that although sports are considered to be dominated by men globally, sports in the country are developing rapidly. He said the new projects would be "empowered".
Al-Arifi highlighted the benefits of building a community, not just golf, but every sport.
He added that from the consumer's point of view, the game promises to create creativity.
"It's not just important to have community for a particular sport, it's important because it's competitive and it's good for us as consumers. "I want to compete in the consumer community because it helps solve the problem,"
Depending on the location, players in the scheme will be nominated as a Ladies First Member at Riaz Golf Club, Derab Golf Club or Royal Greens Golf and Country Club in King Abdullah Economic City.
Launched by PIF, Aramco will officially launch Ladies First Club in preparation for the Saudi Ladies International Tournament.
It will take place two days before the Saudi Ladies Team International between November 12 and 15, with teams of four golfers competing for a $ 500,000 prize from November 17 to 19.
