Recount of votes in GB2, PTI again successful

An unofficial and unconfirmed result came out after the recount of votes in GB-2 Gilgit-2 in connection with the Gilgit-Baltistan elections.

According to the returning officer, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) candidate Fatehullah Khan has won GBA-2 Gilgit-2 with 96 votes.

He said that Fatehullah Khan of PTI got 6,880 votes while his opponent Jamil Ahmed of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) came second with 6,764 votes.

After the victory of Fatehullah Khan in GBA-2 Gilgit-2, the number of PTI seats has increased to 9, while after the inclusion of 5 independent candidates, the total number of PTI members in the GB Assembly has increased to 14.

It should be noted that in the November 15 elections, the PTI candidate in GB2, Fatehullah Khan, won the election by a margin of only two votes over the PPP candidate, Jamil Ahmed, but the PPP refused to accept the results. The Jails staged a sit-in.

When the votes were counted for the second time, the PPP workers present at the sit-in started celebrating with the claim that PPP candidate Jamil Ahmed had won.

Now the Returning Officer has released the unofficial preliminary result of GB 2 Gilgit 2 according to which PTI candidate Fatehullah Khan has been declared the winner with 96 votes.
