No additional burden on home borrowers: Imran Khan

 

PM Imran Khan has said that no additional burden should be placed on the borrowers from banks for home, the simple procedure of new gas connections should be worked out, there is no shortage of electricity in the country, there is no justification for delay in providing new connections. It should be. According to details, a meeting of the Housing and Construction and Development Coordinating Committee was held under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister.

 The meeting was also attended by Advisor Ishrat Hussain, Governor Sindh, Special Assistant Shahbaz Gul, Zulfiqar Bukhari and other senior government officials. The four provincial chief secretaries also participated through video link. The meeting was briefed on new construction projects of Energy and Petroleum Divisions.

A briefing was also given on mutual cooperation for facilitating supply of electricity and gas connections and New Pakistan Housing Scheme.

It was informed in the briefing that necessary information about the applicants would be leaked to the banks. Secretary Petroleum said that an online procedure was being worked out for new gas connections. Prime Minister Imran Khan said that there was no shortage of electricity in the country at present. There is no justification for the delay in providing new electricity connections. The Prime Minister directed to simplify the process of NOCs and approvals.

 He said that regarding New Pakistan Housing, he said that additional burden should not be imposed on the borrowers from banks for housing. In addition, a meeting on Karachi Transformation Plan was held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Imran Khan. In which Railway Minister Sheikh Rashid, Asad Umar, Faisal Wawda, and Finance Advisor Hafeez Sheikh participated. Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa also attended the meeting.

The meeting was briefed on the progress made so far on these projects. During the briefing, it was said that more than 100 projects have been planned under the Karachi Transformation Plan. The projects will be completed at a cost of Rs 1.117 trillion. The projects are divided into three parts according to the completion stages. Prime Minister Imran Khan directed to form a committee to formulate recommendations on the feasibility of the KFOR project.

Prime Minister Imran Khan said that it was very important to solve the problems of Karachi on a permanent basis. The damage caused by rainwater in Karachi is due to the illegal construction of drains. Prior to removing encroachments in Karachi, alternative arrangements should be made in advance for the deserving residents there.
