According to private TV, a meeting of the National Command and Operations Center is underway under the chairmanship of Federal Minister Asad Omar. Due to the increase in Corona cases, the NCOC has proposed a ban on large gatherings.
The meeting recommended immediate closure of cinemas, theaters and shrines, further limiting the number of participants in open-air wedding ceremonies, and allowed 500 people to attend open-air wedding ceremonies after November 20. In addition, the meeting recommended that outdoor hotels remain open until 10 pm, while restaurants be allowed to sit outside until 10 pm to eat and take food home.
Regarding winter holidays in schools, an important meeting chaired by Federal Minister Shafqat Mahmood will be held on November 16 in which the decision on winter holidays will be taken in consultation with the provincial education ministry.
Earlier, Federal Minister Asad Omar said in his tweet that the NCOC had once again proposed a ban on public gatherings, adding that immediate steps would have to be taken to save lives and jobs due to the spread of the virus.
The Federal Minister said that consensus was needed in the NCC to implement the decision, adding that the decision was being delayed in the NCOC due to lack of consensus. In October, the NCOC proposed a ban on public gatherings.
