Nawaz Sharif said that Raheel Sharif had stepped back to extend his tenure

 

Former provincial president of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Lt. Gen. (retd) Abdul Qadir Baloch, has claimed that Nawaz Sharif had told him that former army chief Raheel Sharif had stepped back to extend his tenure. In a program on private news channel Hum News, former National Assembly member General (retd) Abdul Qadir Baloch said that after the retirement of Army Chief General (retd) Raheel Sharif, Nawaz Sharif had told him that Raheel Sharif had fallen behind for the extension. He said that General (retd) Raheel Sharif had been my staff officer and I had high hopes for him. He said that it was a matter of great disappointment for me and it was very strange to hear me. Why? On a question, Abdul Qadir Baloch said that he received messages from the PPP leadership to join the party and a delegation had also met him in this regard.
