'Love and attraction are not enough for a successful marriage'

According to the traditional saying, couples are formed in the sky, but with the introduction of technology and especially the Internet, the same couples began to be formed online.

Due to social changes, young people are getting more and more opportunities to meet and get to know each other better, even through online websites.

In such a situation, the women running the marriage bureau believe that their demand has not decreased and there are many young people who are in favor of finding a relationship for marriage in the traditional way.

Saudi matchmaker Umm Nasr has been in a relationship for 20 years, during which time she has married 300 couples.

Umm Nasr's social networking site Twitter has 10,000 followers who contact her in search of a suitable relationship for marriage.

Expressing her views to Arab News, Umm Nasr said that she has been married for 36 years and she knows very well what factors are necessary to strengthen the relationship, and it is not necessary to have love. ۔

According to Umm Nasr, the basic principles of a successful marriage are not love and attraction, but understanding each other and compromising in difficult situations.

"But everyone wants a movie romance or a relationship that is being shown on social media. I want to make the younger generation realize that everything that is shown on Instagram or in movies is a lie.

Umm Nasr said that it was not a love marriage but a relationship between her parents when she was 16 years old.

"But we both tried to understand each other and respect each other."

They said that 36 years have passed since their marriage and love and respect for each other is as strong as ever.

Contrary to Umm Nasr's views, 27-year-old Saudi Yasmin al-Khadir rejected the traditional method of building relationships, saying she wanted to find her own spouse.

According to Yasmin, love for each other is not enough for marriage, but love is a key part of the whole process.

Sarah Al-Maitiri, a 22-year-old Riyadh resident, said she was in favor of a arranged marriage but would like to get to know the man better before entering into a marital relationship.

Matchmaker Umm Nasr says people under the age of 30 rarely ask for a relationship
