Lahore Qalandars beat Multan Sultans by 25 runs to qualify for the final. This is the first time in five editions that the Lahore team has reached the final.
In the third match of the play-off stage, Multan Sultans were bowled out for 157 in pursuit of the target of 183 runs. Adam Light of Multan Sultans remained the top scorer with 50 runs while Khushdal Shah scored 30, captain Shaun Masood 27 and Riley Russo 18 runs.
From Lahore Qalandar, Haris Rauf and David Weiss bowled destructively and guided 3, 3 players to the pavilion. Shaheen Shah Afridi and Dilbar Hussain led 2, 2 players to the pavilion.
Earlier, in the third eliminator match of the fifth edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL), Lahore Qalandars gave Multan Sultans a target of 183 runs to win. Batting first at the invitation of Multan Sultans, Lahore Qalandars scored 182 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Fakhr Zaman, the opener from Lahore Qalandars, scored 46 runs. Second opener Tamim Iqbal stood out with 30 runs. In the last overs, Samit Patel and David Weiss batted aggressively, however, Samit Patel was dismissed for 26 runs in the last over. David Weiss, who hit two sixes off the last two balls, was the top scorer with 48 runs.
For Multan Sultans, Shahid Afridi led two players to the pavilion while Junaid Khan, Sohail Tanveer, Mohammad Ilyas and Adam Light took one wicket each.
