Kashmir's independent status on currency notes, India's connection with Saudi Arabia

To commemorate the presidency of the G20 summit, the Saudi government has issued 20 riyal currency notes on which occupied Kashmir has been declared independent.

Expressing concern over the issuance of currency notes related to territorial boundaries, India has demanded immediate steps to change it. The Indian Foreign Office said that Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh, an integral part of India, have called for immediate reform.

According to a foreign broadcaster, the G20 summit will be held in Saudi Arabia under the chairmanship of Saudi King Shah Salman. In his memory, the new banknote of 20 riyals issued by Saudi Arabia also has a world map which includes Jammu and Kashmir. Ladakh, including Kashmir, has not been included in India.

Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan have not been included in the map. By not including Pakistani areas of Kashmir in the map, Saudi Arabia has in a way expressed its displeasure with Pakistan.

Foreign Ministry Spokesperson in New Delhi Anurag Srivastava said, "We have conveyed our concerns to Saudi Arabia through Saudi diplomats and diplomatic channels in Riyadh and called for immediate reforms, including in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh." Centrally administered territories are an integral part of India.

A few days ago, Twitter showed Layyah, the capital of the disputed region of Ladakh, in China, and even then, India was outraged and said that the company should take care of the feelings of the Indian people.

India lamented in a letter to the head of Twitter that the company needed to correct its map of Ladakh immediately.
