In the first match of the Sri Lankan Premier League played on Monday, Jaffna Stallions defeated Dambullawai King by 66 runs. Jaffna Stallions scored 218 runs thanks to captain Thessara Pereira's lightning-fast 97 runs.
In pursuit of a mountain-like target, the Dambulla Wy King team faltered from the start and none of the players were able to show the best batting which resulted in the entire team being bowled out for 152 runs. For Dambulla Wy King, Samat Patel scored 41, Desan Shanka 35, and Anwar Ali 21 runs.
Pakistani fast bowler Usman Khan Shinwari bowled brilliantly for Jaffna Stallions, dismissing three wickets.
Earlier, Jaffna Staliner set a target of 218 runs with the help of 97 runs off 44 balls of captain Thisara Perera. Thisara Perera's innings included 8 fours and 7 sixes, Shoaib Malik from Jaffna Stallions scored 29 off 24 balls with the help of 2 sixes.
