Federal Minister for Industry Hamad Azhar has said that they are working on electric vehicle policy in a balanced manner. The policy will come in two weeks. The policy of four wheelers will also be brought soon. The policy they are bringing in Pakistan will improve.
According to private TV, a meeting of the National Assembly Standing Committee on Industry and Production was held under the chairmanship of Sajid Turi. Six companies are working to make cars, more than کروڑ 470 million has been invested so far, 418,000 units will be installed annually, 50% customs duty exemption on cars up to 1800cc. There will be a 25 per cent exemption from customs duty on vehicles over 1800 cc. It was informed that one per cent customs duty will be levied on parts of electric cars, registration fee and annual renewal will be waived, 50 per cent customs duty on imports will also be waived.
Federal Minister Hamad Azhar said that work on this policy is still going on and we will bring the policy for 2 weeks. Talks are also going on with different countries regarding electric vehicle. They are working on electric vehicle policy in a balanced way. ۔ He said that our automotive sector is more complex, there is a policy for two to three wheelers, we will soon bring a policy for four wheelers, the policy we are bringing in Pakistan will improve.
