"Biden was against the Osama bin Laden operation in Pakistan," said Barack Obama

 

Former US President Barack Obama has revealed that newly elected US President Joe Biden was against the Osama bin Laden operation in Pakistan.

In his book A Promised Land, Barack Obama writes that Biden weighed in on the anti-Abbottabad complex operation. The then Secretary of Defense, Robert Gates, warned of unspeakable consequences if the operation failed, and said that the intelligence community should be given a chance to gather more evidence of Osama bin Laden's presence before making any decision.

Barack Obama praised Joe Biden and said he was grateful that he had asked so many questions on the issue because it was necessary for my personal comfort.

It may be recalled that on May 2, 2011, US commandos claimed to have killed Osama bin Laden in an operation in a complex in the Pakistani city of Abbottabad.
