Bicycle sales up 150% during Corona

The Corona epidemic, which has been raging around the world since December 2019, has affected the economy and business life in almost all the affected countries of the world.

However, during the Corona epidemic, there are some sectors in which business has grown exponentially, including the sale of bicycles.

According to several reports, after the Corona epidemic, worldwide traffic restrictions led to a significant increase in bicycle sales and a significant increase in bicycle sales in the Occupied Kashmir Valley.

According to a report by the Thomas Reuters Foundation, the lockdown of Corona in Occupied Kashmir saw a significant increase in bicycle sales and some shops saw a 150 per cent increase in revenue.

According to Jamshed Jilani, a bicycle vendor in Lal Chowk, Srinagar, sales of bicycles have increased significantly in the immediate aftermath of the Corona Lockdown, while supply has declined due to increased global demand. ۔

According to Jamshed Jilani, although the last two years have seen an increase in bicycle sales in Occupied Kashmir, it has multiplied since the Corona epidemic.

He said that after the outbreak of Corona disease, people have also come up with the idea of improving their health, which is why people are buying bicycles to keep themselves healthy.

In Occupied Kashmir, not only the youth and those studying in educational institutions are buying bicycles but also people with various jobs and even laborers are buying bicycles.

While the sale of bicycles has increased in Occupied Kashmir due to the closure of transport and the trend of keeping oneself healthy, the local administration of Srinagar has also built separate roads for cyclists.

Rising demand for bicycles has also led to a significant improvement in the environment in Srinagar, and people there now line up outside bicycle shops, as in European countries.

There are also some shopkeepers in Srinagar who are selling 40 or more bicycles a week, including Rameez Ahmed, whose business has grown by 150 per cent.

Rameez Ahmed said that since March this year, there has been a sudden surge in sales of bicycles and by June, their business had grown by 150 per cent.

While Occupied Kashmir has seen an increase in bicycle sales, many people have opened bicycle shops in view of the growing demand during the Corona epidemic.

Kashmiri youths who cycled during the Corona epidemic believe that their health has improved while adopting a new lifestyle and cycling, as well as seeing their surroundings improve.

Numerous studies in Europe have shown that cyclists are protected from many diseases.

According to a study, cyclists have a 20% lower risk of premature death, including heart disease and cancer.
