Indian film star Akshay Kumar has issued a notice to Indian YouTuber to pay Rs 500 crore in damages for uploading false videos against the actor in the Shashant Singh Rajput suicide case and making baseless allegations against him.
According to Indian media reports, actor Akshay Kumar has given a defamation notice to YouTuber from Bihar, who had made false and baseless allegations against Akshay Kumar in the Sashant Singh Rajput suicide case.
On November 17, Akshay Kumar sent a notice to YouTube to apologize and pay Rs 500 crore in damages under the IC legal firm legal proceedings and at the same time, the police ordered YouTube to delete all those videos from their channels. Diya who is against Akshay Kumar.
The Bollywood actor's lawyer told Indian media that 'Akshay Kumar has suffered mental trauma and distress due to the defamatory and insulting videos, including loss of reputation and goodwill and that is why the actor A notice of Rs 500 crore has been sent.
"The videos make a number of false and baseless allegations against Akshay Kumar that the actor helped Riya Chakraborty escape to Canada," the lawyer said.
On the other hand, the law firm said in the notice that "these videos are false, baseless and defamatory and have been published deliberately to mislead the public."
The notice also ordered the publication of an unconditional apology from YouTube and the removal of all such videos, as well as refraining from uploading such videos in the future.
The notice said that if YouTube failed to respond to the notice within three days, the actors would take legal action against them.
It may be recalled that on June 14 this year, Shashant Singh Rajput was found dead in his apartment.
The actor's girlfriend Riya Chakraborty was arrested by the NCB in a drug case related to his death but has now been released on bail.
Leading actress Deepika Padukone and her manager Karisma Prakash, Karan Johar, Riya Chakraborty, Sara Ali Khan and Shardha Kapoor among others were among the Bollywood actors investigated by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in the case.
