Ekta Kapoor was sued for showing the soldiers and their wives in questionable condition in his bold and semi-nude web series 'Triple X' and now the High Court has rejected Ekta Kapoor's plea for relief.
An FIR was registered against him for running a pornographic web series and insulting the Indian Army. The FIR also contained provisions for inciting religious sentiments and desecrating national symbols. A case was registered against Ekta at Annapurna police station in Indore. Ekta Kapoor has not been granted relief by the Indore bench of the High Court. The High Court has refused to quash the FIR registered at Annapurna police station in Indore. However, the court, while granting minor relief, asked the FIR to incite religious sentiments and reduce the provisions for desecration of national symbols. Valmiki Shakargai, a resident of Indore, had lodged a complaint against Ekta Kapoor at the Annapurna Police Station on June 5, 2020.
It was said in the FIR that Ekta Kapoor is a filmmaker and director. His company, Alt Balaji, runs the Triple X Web series on social media. The company's web series shows pornography and insults the military. In one episode, a male character is seen wearing a uniform similar to the Indian Army and a female character is tearing his uniform. In the lawsuit filed against Ekta Kapoor, the army's social organization claimed that the web series was on duty from homes. Ekta Kapoor was also accused of hanging the sacred symbols of Hinduism on the uniforms of military characters in a web series and also showing the wives of distant military personnel having sexual relations with non-male gentlemen. At the same time, the wives of such characters were shown in questionable scenes. Acting on the complaint, the police had registered a case against Ekta, in which the police had imposed provisions for showing obscenity, inciting religious sentiments and desecrating national symbols.
