The petition states that Amitabh Bachchan asked his participants which holy book of Hindus was burnt on December 25, 1927 by Dr. Ambedkar, a prominent Indian politician and jurist.
Asking questions, Amitabh Bachchan traditionally gave the participants four options, in which he also mentioned the names of the four sacred books of the Hindus, the Rig Veda, the Vishnu Pran, the Bhagwat Gita and Manu Smriti.
Participants answered Amitabh Bachchan's question correctly by naming the book 'Mano Smriti', on which the actor further explained that Dr. Ambedkar had burnt the book to bridge the caste-caste divide among Hindus. ۔
The audience applauded when the participants gave the correct answer and Amitabh Bachchan also encouraged them to give the correct answer.
However, after the program aired, Abhimanyu Pawar, a BJP member of the Maharashtra Assembly, filed a case against Amitabh Bachchan for hurting the feelings of Hindus by asking controversial questions and demanded stern action against him.
Despite the filing of the case, the police have not taken any action against Amitabh Bachchan or Sony Entertainment Channel so far. Besides, the 12th season of the game show is also going on on the said TV channel.
Controversy continues on social media over the filing of a case against Amitabh Bachchan for hurting the feelings of Hindus, and while many people are opposing him, many are also supporting him.
