Pakistan's debt relief from G20 countries for May to
December 2020 has been settled. Pakistan has completed 36 agreements with 16
countries for debt relief. Through these agreements, Pakistan received $800
million in debt relief.
According to private TV, Pakistan received $ 347 million
from China, $ 128.3 million from the United States, $170 million from France
and $86.11 million from Germany. Pakistan received a debt relief of $ 14.4
million from Sweden and 80 8 million from Canada.
Pakistan is in talks with five countries for another $1 billion in debt relief, in
which agreements will be signed with Russia, Japan, the United Kingdom, the UAE
and Saudi Arabia. Negotiations with these 5 countries will be completed by
December 31, 2020.
In terms of debt relief, Pakistan has completed nine
agreements with the United States, eight with China, and two with Belgium,
Canada, Spain, the Netherlands and Germany. It has completed one-on-one agreements
with Australia, Finland, France, Italy, South Korea, Kuwait, Norway,
Switzerland and Sweden. Pakistan is expected to receive 80 800-900 million in
debt relief in the second phase. In the second phase, debt relief is expected
for January 2021.
