Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that it is very important to solve the problems of Karachi permanently. Alternative arrangements should be made before removing the encroachments. A technical committee should be formed to formulate recommendations for enhancing the capacity of K4.
He expressed these views while addressing a high-level meeting on the Karachi Transformation Plan in which Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa along with federal ministers participated.
The meeting was informed that 100 projects have been prepared for Karachi and under the Transformation Plan, projects worth 1117 billion will be completed in three phases.

The meeting was informed that more than 100 projects have been planned under the Karachi Transformation Plan which will be completed for Rs. 1117 billion. These projects are divided into three parts according to the completion stages.
The meeting was briefed on the progress made so far on these projects. Stressing on the timely completion of the projects, the Prime Minister said that a permanent solution to the problems of Karachi was essential.
The Prime Minister said that the damage caused by rainwater in Karachi during monsoon every year is due to illegal constructions on drains and it is very important to solve the problems of Karachi permanently.
The Prime Minister directed that alternative arrangements should be made in advance for the deserving residents of Karachi before removing the encroachments. The Prime Minister also directed to form a technical committee under the Ministry of Planning to formulate recommendations for enhancing the capacity and efficiency of the K4 project to supply water to Karachi.
Also, while presiding over the weekly meeting of the National Coordinating Committee for Housing, Construction, and Development, Prime Minister Imran Khan made it clear that there was no shortage of electricity in the country at present and there was no justification for the delay in providing new connections.
The aim of the government is to provide facilities and amenities to the people. Pakistanis living abroad are our precious assets. Obstacles for them to participate in domestic business activities should be removed on a priority basis.
