After the arrest of Capt (retd) Muhammad Safdar, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and PML-N leader Maryam Nawaz had a telephone conversation during which Bilawal condemned the arrest and said that he heard the news of Capt. Safdar's arrest. Kar was severely shocked. Such an arrest last night is also against the traditions of Sindh.
According to a private TV channel, Bilawal said that he fully expresses solidarity with you in this hour of distress. The Sindh government has not been informed of the arrest but has directed the Sindh Chief Minister to investigate. It may be recalled that Captain Safdar was arrested by the police for breaking the lock of a hotel room and shifted to the police station on the charge of chanting slogans at Mazar-e-Quaid and now he is being produced in court. Police sources said that physical remand would be sought from the court.
It is also worth mentioning here that he had gone to Karachi to attend a meeting of the Ittehad-e-Pakistan Democratic Movement of Opposition Parties.
