Corona cases in Iran have reached close to 500,000. As the number of cases increases, the ban on wearing masks has been made mandatory in the capital Tehran from today. Violation will result in a fine of 500,000 Iranian riyals.
Announcing the ban, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said that those affected by Corona would have to inform their friends and colleagues about their illness and that those who did not do so would be fined 2 million riyals.
As the cases escalated, schools, mosques, restaurants and businesses in Tehran were closed for a week from October 3. The lockdown in Tehran was extended for a week yesterday due to the continuous increase in cases.
The number of corona cases in Iran is more than 496,000 and the death toll is more than 28,000.
