Pakistan's first original web series 'Sparrows', which was released in August this year, was released on Indian streaming channel Z5, but now it has been shut down for Pakistani fans, much to the chagrin of the public. Personalities have also responded.
Yesterday, Asim Abbasi, the director of 'Chariles', had said in his series of tweets that his web series was shut down in Pakistan.
He lamented the closure of "Sparrows" in tweets, saying that "surprisingly, the web series that is being praised around the world has been shut down in his own country."
Asim Abbasi had termed the closure of 'Charles' in Pakistan as not only detrimental to filmmakers, actors and artists, but also to women, the enlightened class and platforms such as streaming sites for financial betterment. He also said that it is harmful for the creative people who resort to it.
Asim Abbasi had said in his tweets that many artists and actors of this country are creating something new together but their hard work is being wasted.
Showbiz personalities have reacted angrily to the closure of the witches.
Actress Jale Sarhadi said that it is very shameful about witches that our moral standards only want to promote hypocrisy.
"We can show women being harassed, but does it scare us if they want to start a conversation and try to take control?" Closing it is a cowardly act.
With regards to #churails it is shame that our moral brigade wants to only promote hypocrisy. We can show women being harassed and maligned but if they want to initiate dialogue Nd take power into their own hands, it scares us?? Cowardly act to shut it down! Shame!

Singer Shimon Ismail said that witches reflect the aspects of our society that are in fact abundant.
"If her reunion is considered absurd, I advise her to do something to actually prevent forced marriages and rape, rather than simply banning and blindfolding her," she wrote.
Churails shows the sides of society that very much exist in reality. So if reenactment of it is considered vulgar by some I would suggest them to actually do something to stop forced marriages & rapes rather than putting a blindfold on by just banning it.

Actress Sanam Saeed wrote that ban on dance advertisements, movies and web series will not end rape, why is there so much hypocrisy?
Banning dancing ads, outspoken films and webseries will not end rape if that's the agenda. Why are we riddled with such hypocrisy? Buss bandh darvaazon kay peechay ho sub. God forbid hamari bholi awaam influence na ho jai if we take creative liberty to be honest and open.

Actor Usman Khalid Butt wrote that you banned witches? Now please pay attention to the fact that the police have failed to arrest the main accused in the motorway rape.
WE had Zindagi Tamasha, which was very subtle and very very respectful of the censors and our sensibilities. Sohail Waraich's book was banned, and he has never offended anyone...so not sure about second guessing https://t.co/ztQTWPoer6
