The Sindh Home Department has issued a notification to the ministerial committee to probe the case against Capt (retd) Safdar and abuse of senior police leadership.
According to private TV, Provincial Minister Saeed Ghani is the Convener of the Provincial Ministerial Committee while Nasir Hussain Shah, Syed Sardar Ali Shah, Owais Qadir Shah and Special Assistant Murtaza Wahab are among the members. In October, Capt. (R) will investigate allegations of pressure on police to file a case against Safdar, the arrest of Capt. Safdar at the hotel and the violation of the Chadar Chardiwari. The committee will consider other issues related to the incident, including an investigation into alleged misconduct by top police officials. According to a letter issued by the provincial home department, the committee will complete and submit its report within 30 days
It may be recalled that Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah had announced the formation of a provincial ministerial committee two days ago. On the same day, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto also demanded an inquiry into the incident from the Army Chief General and DG ISI. After which the Army Chief directed the Corps Commander of Karachi to investigate and give an immediate report.
