Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei called Emmanuel Macron's statement "stupid."
In a statement posted on the social networking site, Khamenei called French President Emmanuel Macron's statement about the blasphemous sketches "stupid."
The Iranian supreme leader said that the French people should ask their president why he was supporting the desecration of the Prophet of Allah in the name of freedom of expression.
Iran's Supreme Leader asked, "Is the demand for freedom of expression an insult to holy figures?"
He further said that why it is a crime to ask about the Holocaust? Why is the perpetrator imprisoned?
Earlier, Turkish President Tayyabb Erdogan and Prime Minister Imran Khan also expressed outrage over the French president's remarks.
Turkish President Recep Tayyab Erdogan even advised Emmanuel Macron to undergo a brain test.
