Indian police action, relative of important person arrested



A relative of India's ruling party (BJP) MP Arjun Singh has been arrested on corruption charges. Sanjeet Singh is involved in a Rs 12 crore scam.

According to a report of a foreign news agency, the accused Sanjit Singh is the nephew of Bharatiya Janata Party MP Arjun Singh. The accused allegedly committed corruption of Rs 12 crore in the bank on which the police took him into custody.

According to the report, the incident of corruption took place in the Indian state of West Bengal where Rs 12 crore was embezzled in a bank called Operative. Sanjit Singh alias Pappu was arrested by the police during interrogation.

Police interrogated the accused for several hours on corruption charges. During the interrogation, Sanjeet could not give a satisfactory answer to the investigating officers, who arrested him.

The accused was called for questioning at the DD office at Barakpur Commissionerate where he could not satisfy the police, and was taken into custody by the officers, after which the scope of investigation has been widened.

Earlier, MP's son Pawan Singh and a relative of Soro were also questioned by the police for several hours in connection with various cases.
