Statistics released by the Indian government on rape cases reveal that one woman is raped somewhere in India every 16 minutes, while there is no such state in India. In which women are safe.
According to the Hindustan Times, figures released by the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) on the orders of the Supreme Court in 2019 show that in one year, violence and rape against women in India took place. The incidence has risen by about 8%.
According to the report, every 16 minutes, a woman is raped in India, while every 4 hours, a woman is abducted and every two days, a woman is thrown acid.
According to the report, in the year 2019, the highest number of incidents of violence and rape against women was recorded in the capital New Delhi at 12,902.
Surprisingly, the report said that Mumbai, the capital of the Indian state of Maharashtra, was second with 6,519 registered cases of exploitation, rape and violence against women, though New Delhi was at the forefront in rape cases.
The report further said that Mumbai topped the list of incidents of violence, exploitation and some crimes against women.
The report said that in the year 2019, 1213 rape cases were registered in New Delhi, 517 in Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan state and 394 in Mumbai.
