In India, a woman was locked in a toilet by her husband for the past year and a half and has now been recovered. Had been locked in the toilet for the last one and a half years in a very painful condition.
Yesterday, a team of District Women and Child Welfare Department officials rescued the victim, a mother of three, from a very small and smelly toilet, District Women Protection Officer Gupta told media. Her team found Nikhaton in a very poor condition in the toilet, after which the investigation revealed that she had been forced to live in this miserable condition for the past year and a half.
Officer Gupta said that when he took the woman out of the toilet, she was so weak that she could not even walk away from him. When he fed her, she ate 8 loaves of bread. The victim told the officer that she was not given proper food and even water to eat. Naresh Kumar, the victim's husband, when questioned, claimed that his wife had a mental illness. There is a disease that caused him to keep his wife locked in the toilet so that he would not harm anyone.
The Population Welfare Officer said that he had identified all the members of the family from the affected woman in which she was successful and also gave correct answers to all the questions asked by the team. Talking to media, Gupta further said that if the victim is mentally ill, then Naresh Kumar should submit documents related to the treatment of her illness while Naresh Kumar does not have any such documents. A case has been registered against him under sections 498A and 342 of the IPC.
