According to Arab media reports, the Saudi Customs Department, while issuing the procedure and explanation for the import of tobacco products, said that locals and foreigners can import 2400 cigarettes and 2 kg of glass tobacco, and those passengers who want to bring the said products with them. According to the customs department, citizens will be able to import tobacco products through air cargo, post office or express mail service, while these regulations are for up to 3 manas only, and the same rule will apply to passengers.
The department warned that strict action would be taken against any citizen who violated the policy, confiscated tobacco products would be confiscated and customs duty on tobacco products would be 100%.
100% special tax and 15% value added tax should be levied on import.
However, the tax will not apply to passengers who do not bring more than 200 cigarettes and 500 grams of tobacco, and the rules are only for citizens over the age of 18, while the policy is for those coming and going from bad border checkpoints. Will not apply to passengers, general importers.
