The United Arab Emirates is considering a government offer of financial assistance for men seeking a second marriage.
According to the Gulf News Agency, the proposal was made earlier in 2018 in the Sheikh Zayed Housing Program. The proposal was aimed at facilitating Emirati men to marry local women and reducing the rate of unmarried women in the country.
In an interview with an Abu Dhabi newspaper two years ago, Hamad al-Rhumi, a member of the Federal National Council from Dubai, said that when a man sees that he will have to pay in the housing scheme if he marries a foreign woman, If the government provides financial assistance in case of marriage to a woman, then he must give preference to the local woman.
It should be noted that in addition to other activities to prevent the corona virus, wedding ceremonies were also banned in the UAE. However, with the easing of these restrictions, the proposal to provide financial assistance to a man who remarries a compatriot has resumed.
