Federal Minister for Education Shafqat Mahmood has termed the issue of student union as important and said that he is in favor of it in principle. Work related to student union will be started soon.

۔ In a statement, Shafqat Mehmood said that the student union is an important issue and we are in favor of it in principle, but we have not made educational institutions a hotbed of political infighting. We have seen where the positive aspects of the student unions were prominent but then the political parties had a big involvement in the unions, which made the educational institutions a hotbed of political infighting. In this regard, a plan will be made to keep the educational environment and student activities going.
