The European Union (EU) has warned Turkey against launching a boycott of French products. According to media reports, the European Commission has said that Turkey's move has further excluded Turkey from joining the European Union. Boycotting the products of any EU member state is unacceptable.
The commission said the boycott of member countries' products violated the EU's accession agreement. Officially, Turkey's boycott of EU member state products violates the agreement. Turkey's move could further jeopardize Turkey's accession to the European Union. Turkey applied to join the European Union in 1987.
So far, however, Turkey's accession to the European Union has not been possible. It should be noted that an important statement was issued by Turkish President Tayyab Erdogan in this regard after the campaign to boycott French products was launched all over the world. The Turkish president had ordered a boycott of French products in Turkey as well. "I tell the Turkish people not to buy French products," he said.
Apart from Turkey, various Muslim countries are also demanding a boycott of France. Many Islamic countries have also begun boycotting French products. The two Gulf states, Kuwait and Qatar, were the first two countries to boycott French products altogether, followed by other countries. It may be recalled that a few days ago, after the beheading of teacher Samuel Petty, who had shown blasphemous sketches during a freedom of expression lesson, French President Macron had declared that France would not back down from sketches, so Samuel Petty was assassinated. Done because Islamists want our future.
Following the French president's statement, Muslims around the world have spoken out against France.
