It has been decided to review the performance of Pakistan cricket team's Test captain Azhar Ali.
Sources said that Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief executive Wasim Khan has had a detailed meeting with Azhar Ali, while PCB chairman Ehsan Mani is yet to meet Azhar Ali.
Sources said that Azhar Ali's future would be decided on the basis of performance after the meetings.
The announcement of the Test squad for the tour of New Zealand is expected in the second week of November, where the captain will be announced along with the squad.
Sources said that only Babar Azam is likely to be retained as the captain of white ball cricket.
The PCB has appointed Azhar Ali as the captain of the Test team for the 2020-20 season.
On the other hand, wicket keeper-batsman Mohammad Rizwan is considered a strong candidate for the captaincy of the Pakistan Test team.
